Co-founder

Enrico is a Swiss-Italian scientist specializing in biochemistry and cell biology, renowned for his commitment to the circular economy and the valorization of agricultural waste. He holds a PhD in Biomolecular Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), and carried out post-doctoral research at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the University of Geneva, focusing on bioengineering and life sciences.

In 2021, Enrico co-founded Gaia Tech, an ETH Zurich spin-off from the European research project “Phenoliva”. As Scientific Director and Head of Product Development, he leads the company’s research and development initiatives. Gaia Tech specializes in the extraction of natural antioxidants from agricultural by-products, notably residues from olive oil production, to create high value-added ingredients for the cosmetics, food and feed industries.

Enrico embodies a new generation of scientist-entrepreneurs, combining academic rigor and industrial vision, with the aim of transforming agricultural waste into valuable resources, thus contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly economy.
